Whoa........obviously I'm not any good at blogging. My last post June 2008. Today we went to see Julie and Julia. Julia actually came to Thompson in the late 80's and spent some time with Susan Wyler, up on King Hill. Susan published a cookbook and had the local folks recipes included. She had something about Fred and the great country sausage he made. We just don't find any sausage around like that anymore. The recipe made about 25 lbs. and to the package of Legg seasoning he added extra cinnamon, black pepper, and sage. It was so good with pancakes and 100% Local Maple Syrup.
The 52 weeks for dogs on flickr is the "chair challenge" this week. The title "Boomer in Wonderland Chair". For some reason it looks so small and reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. We had a chance to adopt an adult, former champion, Orange Belton English Setter. I phoned the breeder tonight to let her know I am just not quite ready for another dog after the recent death of Genna to Lymes Disease.
This week is the 152nd Harford Fair. Typically I take Monday off so I can go photograph the draft horses. The teams of horses come in only for one day and then pack up and leave. Last year there were fewer teams. I'm wondering if this year will even be less. I decided to pick Friday so I could take a friend to the fair, now I'm wishing I took both days off.
