If I am late for work it may as well be for a dragon fly !

Wow........my first motionless dragon fly, how exciting। I had left my sunglasses at June's so decided to stop by before going to work. June had found this guy clinging to the daylily stems and was looking for camera batteries. According to George, at the photography club, he is a Common Green Darner. If he's so common then why have I never seen one? An internet search proves George knows his dragons. The question: is it male or female?
